I cannot explain how the elevation of this photograph was achieved as neither the Grand Opera House (1886) or the Wickes Building (1886) were present when the Street car line was operating a turnbuckle at the Alamo Market. The San Antonio Police Station (the two doors) in the south side of the Alamo Chapel are present (began in 1883). There appears to be no construction at the site of the US Post Office (begun 1888) at the far north end of the plaza.
