Subject: Dolorosa Street. View is west from the gas pumps. The large brick building west of the bridge and on the south side of Dolorosa is the Police Headquarters and Detective Building (1927). Known originally as the Police and Health Department Building and after 1963 as the Legal and Professional Building, it occupied the site of the French Building, San Antonio’s first modern office building, which housed (at various times) the Bexar County Court, San Antonio City Hall and the San Antonio Police headquarters.
