Subject: Photo crop of a flood damage scene. View is north. Taken from the St. Mary’s Street and Houston Street intersection. Note the height of the water on the Gunter Hotel. Officer David Bradshaw, SAPD who joined the force in 1915 was working the corner the night of the flood and stated, “I heard the water coming and looked north on St. Mary’s…the water looked like it was boiling as it came down St. Mary’s, ripping up the mesquite block paving…me and the Hertzberg clock went under water at a quarter to twelve.”
