Subject: Photo crop of a street scene. View is west and elevated along Commerce Street. Taken from a building just east of the Commerce Street bridge. The wooden bridge has a pedestrian separation as is shown on the Koch 1873 map and most likely is the 1861 “heavy load” bridge. However, the photograph clearly indicates a three-story building on the south side of Commerce which the 1873 map does not detail, while the 1877 Sanborn map does reflect a three-story building at Cocarron (sic) and Commerce.
