Subject: Photo crop of a street scene. View is east and elevated along West Commerce Street. Taken from second floor level and almost center of the street, most likely from a boom off or out of the Kampmann Building. The Hertzberg Clock is present in the photograph in front of the Hertzberg Jewelry Company at 329 W. Commerce. It will be moved in to a new location at the Gunter Building on Houston Street in 1910. The electric light bulb decorations, the bicycles and the women’s fashions indicate a turn of the century period. The cyclist approaching the camera could be a San Antonio Police Officer.
